Twin Valley All-State volleyball player Mikayla Riehl

Twin Valley was looking to clinch the Division 1 title in the BCIAA with a win on Tuesday night against Exeter.  The Eagles, however, weren't going down easily.  They came out on fire and took the first set 25-15 in Elverson.  "We had a little bit of a fire in our belly. We felt like we got disrespected in our own home. We knew we weren't playing our game. We wanted to really clean up our act," said Twin Valley senior Mikayla Riehl.  The Raiders dominated the second set 25-11, but fell behind 12-4 in the third set.  Twin Valley rallied for a pivotal 25-22 win.  The fourth set was tied 7-7 when the Raiders seized control with six straight points.  Exeter pulled within 20-17 before Twin Valley closed it out 25-18.  It was the tenth consecutive victory for the (12-2) Raiders.  They're ranked #9 in the state in Class 4A.  Riehl had 15 kills and seven blocks.  The two-time All-State selection is committed to Division II Shepherd.  Addison Hertzog finished with 34 assists and eight digs.  Casey Levan added eleven digs, six kills, and four aces.  Twin Valley's roster includes nine seniors.  "We've been together since seventh grade. We just keep getting tighter and tighter. We trust each other, we know each other. It's really fun," Riehl told SV Sports' Paul Roberts.  The (11-3) Eagles are a program on the rise with a trio of talented sophomores.  Taylor Mack had a game-high 16 kills.  Jillian Warner provided twelve kills and a dozen digs.  Lily Acker piled up 37 assists.  The Raiders are searching for their first Berks County championship.  They lost to Wilson in the BCIAA Final in each of the past two seasons.  Riehl is hoping to go out on top.  "It would mean so much. It would be incredible," she said.
