Interview with Hempfield Standout Deyvid Palepale and Head Coach George Eager

Hempfield earned its first Section 1 championship in the Lancaster-Lebanon League since 2005.  The Black Knights went unbeaten in league play.  They hadn’t won an outright Section 1 title since 1994!  A big reason why, literally, has been the play of Deyvid Palepale.  The junior OL/DL is hard to miss at 6’3 and 305 pounds.  He has offers from Penn State, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Kentucky, Louisville, Vanderbilt, and Temple.  Palepale moved from Alaska to Pennsylvania in 9th grade.  He has 49 tackles, 10 TFL, 2.5 sacks, and an interception this season.  Palepale returned a fumble for a touchdown.  He also competes on the track and field team.  Hempfield is allowing just 260 yards per game.  The Black Knights are the #1 seed in the District 3-6A football playoffs.

SVSPORTS sat down with Deyvid Palepale and Hempfield head coach George Eager at its location in Spooky Nook.
