Interview with Berks Catholic Head Coach Snip Esterly

Snip Esterly is back on the sidelines for his 34th season as a head coach.  Esterly has won more games than any coach in Berks County basketball history.  He entered the year with 769 victories, including 227 at Berks Catholic.  Esterly has captured 13 District 3 championships and 8 Berks Conference titles.  He claimed state gold with Reading Central Catholic in 2007.  This is his 12th season at Berks Catholic.  The Saints went (23-5) last year and won the District 3-4A championship.

SV Sports caught up with Esterly after a season opening victory against Allentown Central Catholic at Exeter’s tip-off tournament.  The Saints rallied from an 18-6 deficit to win 47-40.
Esterly discussed where he developed his love of basketball.  He also revealed that baseball is actually his favorite sport.  Plus, he talked about his favorite movie and rock band.
