SV Sports talks wrestling with Noah Rosa
The Berks Catholic wrestling team has quickly become a powerhouse. The Saints showed why they were the #1 seed in the BCIAA Team Wrestling Tournament at Wyomissing. They rolled over fifth-seeded Tulpehocken 67-6 in the semifinals. That set up a highly anticipated matchup with second-seeded Wilson in the county finals. Berks Catholic prevailed 41-15 to earn its first BCIAA championship. The program started just four years ago. Noah Rosa is one of just two seniors in the Saints' starting lineup. Rosa earned a 7-3 decision versus Miguel Herrera at 127 pounds to give Berks Catholic a 27-15 advantage. "It's what we've been working for the past 4-6 years. It's great being able to finally win County's," said Rosa. The Saints also gave head coach Derek Sola his 200th career victory. Sola was a standout wrestler at Conrad Weiser and Millersville University. "He's not really an aggressive coach. He reasons with us, and he's just a fun guy to be around," mentioned Rosa. Berks Catholic will enter the District 3 tournament with a record of (19-0). Rosa is (16-6) this season. He reached the semifinals of the BCIAA Individual Championships. Rosa told Paul Roberts of SV Sports about his favorite movie, TV show, and rapper. He also talked about his go-to restaurant.
