Spring-Ford QB Matt Zollers meets with SV Sports
Matt Zollers may only be a sophomore in high school, but his goal is very clear. "I really want to play football at the Division I level. I think about it every day," said Zollers. The Spring-Ford quarterback certainly has the size. He's already 6'4 and 200 pounds. Zollers was named Offensive Player of the Year in the PAC Liberty Division after throwing for 2,055 yards. He tossed 23 touchdowns with just three interceptions. Zollers ran for six more scores and averaged 4.8 yards per carry. The Rams won four of their last five games to finish (8-4). Chad Brubaker's team reached the District 1-6A quarterfinals. They took eventual champion Garnet Valley to overtime before falling 30-27. Mason Scott and Belal Abdelrahman will both be back next season at wide receiver. They combined for 56 catches and 6 TD. Zollers' older brother, Zach, is graduating. He had a team-high 44 receptions for 610 yards and eight scores. "I'm gonna miss it a lot. He was my safety target if anything goes wrong. It's gonna be pretty sad," remarked Matt. Zach earned MVP honors in the Liberty Division of the PAC. Matt Zollers mentioned that his favorite NFL quarterback is Joe Burrow. He also gave a Super Bowl prediction that Eagles' fans probably won't want to hear. Zollers talked about his favorite video games, food, and band. "I went to Coldplay with my family last year and it was probably one of the best times of my life," he replied. Zollers carries a 3.6 GPA and told SV Sports' Paul Roberts about his favorite teacher at Spring-Ford. The sophomore is receiving high marks on the gridiron as well.
