Louisville commit and All-American Field Hockey player Aubreigh Uba
Millersville won its first Division II national field hockey title in 2014. Aubreigh Uba's sister, Samantha Rumler, was a goalie on that team. The championship game happened to be played at the University of Louisville. Uba felt that was a sign that she was meant to go there. The Berks Catholic senior led the county with 44 goals this past season. Uba was a first-team All-State selection and a third-team All-American. The Louisville commit helped the Saints finish (19-6) and qualify for the state playoffs in Class A. They lost 4-3 to Lewisburg in the opening round of the PIAA tournament. Uba's teammate, Mallory Buzydiowski, is headed to Saint Joseph's, another nationally ranked field hockey program. "It definitely made the season a lot of fun because it was like playing with your friends," said Uba. She is also part of the lacrosse team at Berks Catholic. Uba highly recommends participating in more than one sport. "It's super important...I know my coach from Louisville definitely said it's very important and she loves when we are a double-sport athlete," Uba told SV Sports' Paul Roberts. They discussed why Pennsylvania is a hotbed of field hockey talent. Uba is a big country music fan. She gave a Netflix recommendation and talked about her favorite teachers at Berks Catholic.
