Interview with Muhlenberg's “Dan Dan” Mosquera

J’Daniel Mosquera is listed at 5’9 on the Muhlenberg boys basketball roster.  He admitted that he’s actually between 5’5 and 5’6.  That doesn’t prevent the senior guard known as “Dan Dan” from making a big impact.  “I feel like everybody’s saying that shorter guys can’t play on the court. I just take it as a chip on the shoulder to prove everybody wrong,” he said.  Mosquera was the Muhls’ second-leading scorer last season.  He averaged 9 points and knocked down 32 three-pointers.  Muhlenberg won 18 games and a Division 2 championship in the Berks Conference a season ago.  Matt Flowers was voted Berks County Coach of the Year in his first season at the helm in Laureldale.  The Muhls are off and running this year.  They won the Manheim Township tip-off tournament.  Muhlenberg beat Columbia 62-55 in the final.  The Muhls moved up to Division 1 for the 2022-23 campaign.  They’ll be competing with Reading, Wilson, and Gov. Mifflin for a division crown.  Muhlenberg snapped a 32-game losing streak to the Red Knights last season.

SV Sports sat down with “Dan Dan” Mosquera who is also putting in a lot of work off the court.  He has a 4.1 GPA at Muhlenberg.
