Gov. Mifflin Lacrosse Team
As spring approaches, there's reason for optimism in Shillington. After reaching the Berks County semifinals a season ago, Gov. Mifflin's boys lacrosse team returns eight starters. All-division selection Jude Enriquez is back for his senior campaign. He scored a team-high 41 goals last year. "It's gonna be hard to put a number on it, but I'm gonna definitely aim for more than that," Enriquez told SV Sports' Paul Roberts. Brandon Jones and Chase Rapp, both starters on the Mustangs' football team, return to the lineup as well. Jones, an Albright commit, is the strongest player on the squad. Rapp provides quickness for head coach Jake Snyder. Carter Leinweber is a midfielder to keep an eye on. He started as a freshman last season. Enriquez and Leinweber explained why lacrosse is becoming more popular at the high school level. Enriquez replied, "You can move around freely and kind of do your own thing, create your own plays." Leinweber added, "How free-flowing it is...It's not so strict like other sports." The regular season is quickly approaching. Gov. Mifflin's opener is at Cocalico on March 18th. SV Sports stopped by the new GMACC this week to hook up the team with their player packs. You can contact a team sales representative via our website.
